I’m going to show you why and how to use Twitter and how it can help you grow your design business.

Get there first:

Even if you see no benefit in Twitter at all go and sign up your name. Twitter names are going fast and nothing will be worse then finding out the name you want is taken. Don’t plan to use twitter? Who cares. Go there, sign up, and get your name reserved just in case.

Creates “instant allies”:

The biggest and most over looked benefit of twitter is the fact that it creates instant allies. Twitter is faster then basically any other form of contact. If you add a new blog post, come out with a new product or service, or maybe you want people to Digg an article Twitter allows you to connect with users instantly and those twitter users can then spread your message and so on and so on. Do not under estimate the power of these instant allies.

Getting connected:

Not very good at sales or finding new clients for graphic design? Use the Twitter search tool and see who recently tweeted about having issues with the problems you solve. If you are a Word press designer do a search for people having problems with there word press website. You will be amazed at how many people tweet about these issues. This will allow you away to connect with them and in the future they could turn into a potential client.

Keep current:

Twitter allows you to keep tabs on your local scene and also what is going on in the designer world. Generally, before any news even hits the wire it can be found on Twitter.

Still don’t believe Twitter can benefit your business? At this point what do you really have to lose. Go out and get a Twitter account.

This tutorial will guide you how to create a custom unique design using the design that comes from Evolution Preset.

Animate Your Logo Into Characters

This tutorial will guide you to learn some of the cool new features introduced in Trapcode Particular v2.0. Inspiration is came from the logo reveal of the Digital Domain Animation Company.

Particle Explosion

This is an after effect tutorial where you’ll build a complex particle system using CC Particle World. you will also synchronize the particle blast to shatter a title.

Energetic Titles

create “3d-looking” titles with this advance level tip. In this tutorial, you’ll use Sure Target preset to achieve advanced 3d moves.

Scene Re-Lighting

With normal-map to relight 3d scene in After Effects. With this tutorial you will apply more advanced lighting, Refraction and reflection.

Fracture Design

Just create a distressed title by using expressions and scripts.

Graffiti Writing

Learn how to simulate a digital graffiti write on wall in 3D and using After Effects to add some paint splatter elements.

Advanced Camera Tips

In this tutorial you will learn an After Effect tutorial and how to create a Unique custom Particle System with Particular. In this tutorial, you will use Null objects to create advanced camera movements.

Growing 3D Vines

In this tutorial, you will be guided to using After Effects to learn how to create a growing 3D vines and animate it.

Note: It’s my first Tutorial. Would be great if you could comment, what stuff is cool, and wich things I could make better the next Time.

Important: I’m a 17 Year old Trainee. I work at a Advertising Agency in Switzerland. Maybe you noticed that my English isn’t the best… That’s because I normally talk German.. But I see this project as a chance to learn better English! So i started the Game with the title:“Correct spelling fails, so Chris can get better in English”. All fails are then listed up here.

DOWNLOAD THE PSD

What we’re going to create

Step One: Set-Up the File

Open Photoshop and create a new File with this settings:

Step Two: Background

Fill the Background with the “Fill” Tool (G). Use the this color RGB 45,36,18

Grab the Pen Tool (B) use a Big Pen and with 0px “hardness”. Color: R 121 G 74 B 27 , and paint a Big Point in the center of your Image:

Step Tree: The Text

Use the Text Tool (T) and write your Text. I used Rockwell BQ. Add some Layer Styles to the Text Layer: (Click on the Image for bigger Size)

Now comes the cool Part. Activate your Text Layer and press Alt + Command + ArrowUP. This “shortcut” duplicates your Layer. . Repeat this step 8 Times. And the result should be:

Create a new Folder and Drag all your Text Layers (should have eight of them) in there, so you have a good overview of all your Layers. If your a Photoshop Starter: It’s important that you always have a nice Layer overview because, when the File gets more and more Layers you quickly lose the overview

Step 4: The Milk

Now we create the Milk splatters. I used some Images from Deviantart. Drag the Image in your Milk File. (don’t forget to credit ~H-D-STOCK.)

Now we gonna cut the Milk Splatters out.

1. Go to the Channels and click on the Green Channel.
2. Duplicate the Green Channel.
3. Press Command + L
4. Drag these little arrows to the position i did. (Image Below)
5. The Image should look now like this:

Now: (shortcuts Time

1. Command + A - select all
2. Command + C – Copy all
3. Go back to the Layers and create a mask Layer on the Milk Splatter Layer.
4. Click on the Mask Layer and hold alt
5. Command + V – Paste all

Now go back to the normal Layers and it should look like that:

Now lighten the Milk a bit up. With Command + L. Then duplicate the Layer and drag the to Milk Splatter Layers behind the Milk Text Folder and voila.
